Cruise Insurance

You all ready for your cruise, set to sail, but then something unexpected happens and you need to cancel at the last minute. Unfortunately, cruise lines have taken an increasingly strong stance in recent years, and they rarely reimburse uninsured passengers for cruise cancellation or other problems. Purchasing travel insurance is a small price to pay for the peace of mind a full coverage policy provides. Some travel insurance policies cover everything from missed connections, emergency medical evacuation, lost or delayed baggage, emergency medical and dental expenses and emergency legal assistance.

Most cruise ship companies base insurance premiums on the total cost of the trip per household and/or on the ages of the passengers. Some travel insurance companies even cover children under certain ages for free, if they are traveling with their parents.

Before departing and purchasing insurance, check to see if your Medicare or HMOs will cover you outside of the United States. If not, Cruise-finders.com can purchase travel insurance for you through the cruise line that you are taking. Please keep in mind that most of the insurance policies available through cruise lines exclude coverage for preexisting medical conditions. And all cruise lines offer different cruise insurance options.
